Exercises highlight U.S.-South Korea cooperation.
This week, F-35 stealth fighter jets from the U.S. Air Force arrived in South Korea, where they join South Korean F-35 aircraft on a 10-day joint training mission. As North Korea continues escalating its short-range missile tests, the training will take up airspace in the Korean Peninsula and show the cooperation between the U.S. and South Korean Air Forces.
“The familiarization and routine training flights will enhance the interoperability of the two Air Forces to perform and operate on and around the Korean Peninsula,” U.S. Forces Korea stated. “The aviation training is also an opportunity for the aircrews to perform sustainment and maintenance duties to support the latest in military aircraft technology.”
